Twilight Steampunk

First Contract

Persephone, Gustav, and Pembroke returned with the spiders. I hate to admit it, but they’re adorable. Pet spiders might be a hard sell, but they’re not much good for anything else. Pembroke has been appointed “Assistant Spider Keeper” and has been taking his duties very seriously. He may have found his calling.

Persephone also returned with a couple of new hires, a dwarf and a halfling. The halfling seems friendly enough, and has enrolled in the alchemy and metallurgy programme. I suspect that the dwarf is a darksider, and we should keep him out of sight if the constabulary has reason to visit the compound. He has been attending classes, but seems to be dissatisfied with hanging about the compound. Maybe he would be willing to help with contract missions?

In other news, an unprecedented number of contracts have been coming in-three in the last week! The first was guard duty for a skittish darksider visiting relatives in Endelheim. The other two were monster clearing missions, one at Fizzik’s compound, and the other is an infested darkside mine.

Persephone was right about there being a need for minions, and I’m glad we have several advanced classes who will be able to take on missions. Persephone does not think they’re ready for monster clearing missions, so she and her two companions will do both of those.

Cogs

Persephone has become concerned. The skyship crew has not returned, and she has decided find out why they have been delayed. She plans to stop by the Cog Mine to clear up some business there. It is rare for the dwarves to ask for outside help. They probably need some outside voice to tell them something they already know. I hope she doesn’t get herself into something she can’t escape.

Spiders!

Jorgen says I hafta have to write a report about my trip with the crazy sky people. Persafunny Persepfenny The Boss Lady sent me to Fizzik’s lab for new training animals. She also sent the cr sky people, but they gave up becuz because they couldn’t catch the spiders. Fizzik was scared and hid in a closet the whole time. Alory, his assistant, promist to help if we promist not to hurt them. We had to catch them one by one, but we finally got them in the cages. The sky people left before we got started, all except for that one. Gwanchi? He stayed behind to talk to Fizzik about lab stuff. P The Boss Lady met up with us just after we got them back in the cages and then we headed home.

Crash

A strange skyship crashed into Persephone’s School for Minions and Assorted Hirelings, destroying the lab and claiming several lives. Several of the crew survived, but Krieger is concerned that they didn’t survive the crash intact—mentally anyway. They rave about strange things, and I wonder about Persephone’s choice to let them loose with only a couple of children for supervision.

I must trust her judgement. She has been uncannily savvy about these things in the past.
